Welcome to my little corner of the sofa which is where I usually sit when I am working on counted cross stitch. Materials are spread out beside me on the sofa and the coffee table in front of me may have “stuff” spread out all over it.
Of course the laptop is taking up part of that space now. Little pieces of floss are usually floating around.
Sit down with your coffee or tea and browse through some of my projects. If you want to see more of my work, visit The Geary Family Homestead.
I live in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia with my husband Jim We have been married 26 plus years and between us we have seven children – five daughters (his), two sons (mine) – and twelve grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. We are the proud parents of Katie, a golden retriever/husky mix who at age six, still thinks she is a puppy.
One of my chief hobbies since 1982 has been counted cross stitch. I bought a kit for a Christmas stocking for half price to work for a new grand-daughter. I was hooked. I then re-introduced my Mom to the hobby that she had done as a young girl. Over the years we spent many an enjoyable hour visiting various shops, buying charts we could never in a million years finish. After Mom died, I inherited all of her stash and shared it with her brother who came to love the craft as much as we did.
Once I became interested in web design, I created a site to share some things about me and my family and my loves:
- Genealogy Research which you can check out on my Family Genealogy site.
- Web Site Design which you can view at Genealogy Web Creations.
- Jim’s Writings – a site I set up for my husband to share his writings with his daughters and anyone else who might be interested.
