Christmas is a special time of year. Part of the fun of Christmas is decorating the tree and the house. When Jim and I were first married in 1982, we had a real tree. We’d bundle up, head out to the local tree farm, pick out the perfect tree, bring it home and Jim would string the lights. Then it was my turn to add the various ornaments I had collected. It really was not until a couple of years later that I started adding cross stitch ornaments to the collection. Mom made some of them and I made others.
The tree we put up at Christmas has gotten smaller as we have gotten older but it is still decorated with our collection of cross stitch ornaments or ones we have collected in our travels.

I love these cute little gingerbread people. What is the name of the designer?
Benjamin Long says
The cross-stitch tree ornaments are indeed lovely. How did you manage to keep them neat and looking immaculate through the years?
Jessica says
Where on earth can I find the adorable ginger bread boy & girl pattern?
patgeary says
Jessica, I’m not sure you can but I will look through my collection and see which of the companies published them. Probably Just Crossstitch but may have been Country Crafts.
patgeary says
Jessica, the gingerbread boy and girl are from the Nov/Dec 1985 issue of Cross Stitch & Country Crafts. You may be able to find the specific issue on ebay. There are actually four designs – the gingerbread boy and girl, two teddy bears back to back, and a rocking horse. If you cannot locate the magazine, contact me using the contact form and I will see what I can do. The designer is Donna Vermillion Giampa.

They are all beautiful. Job well done and love your tree.
